About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Bankgok to Beijing then Beijing to Shanghai to Canada

Arriving on Thai Airways from Bangkok into Beijing on Jan. 21 2019. I will then be returning back to Canada on the following routing: Air China flight from Beijing to Shanghai connecting to Air Canada flight Shanghai to Vancouver. I will have a 5 hour wait in Shanghai between arrival and departing. Would the above itinerary qualify for the 144 hour twov?

Beijing to Shanghai is not allowed on a transit without visa. 2 stops is limited to 24 hour direct transit. Landing in Beijing to get 144 hour TWOV you need to arrive at and depart from one of the following locations: Beijing (PEK), Tianjin (TSN), Shijiazhuang (SJW), Beijing West Railway Station, Tianjin International Cruise Home Port or Qinhuangdao Sea Port
