hello, extending an f visa

Question

I am coming to the end of my 1 year, multi-entry F. Could I apply for an extension within China or do I need to leave the country? I plan to visit Japan before I re-enter. Would that also affect my chances of getting an extension? Thanks!

Hi, after entering China under the current L type, if you want to stay longer time before the F type expires, you can try to extend it at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. Your visit to Japan would not affect that, I suppose.
