About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Does a stop in China prevent eligibility?

I’m flying to Guangzhou from Vancouver, with a 6hr stop in Nanjing. I then fly to Jeddah 2 days later. If I don’t leave the airport in Nanjing do I qualify for a 72hr free transit in Guangzhou?

You do not qualify for 72 hours transit without visa because of the stop in Nanjing. You need a visa or different flights.
