About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Layover. Does this layover in Guangzhou disqualify me from the 72 hour free transit???

I'm flying into Kunming from Singapore to pick up some bags I left when I lived there and have a flight out or the country within 72 hours and I thought that was fine, but after flying out of Kunming I'll have a layover in Guangzhou before flying home to the US.

You don’t qualify for 72 hours transit without visa. You only qualify for 24 hours.
