I am traveling to USA from India via Shanghai in China eastern.

I know I'm not allowed to transit without visa as I've an Indian passport. I wanted to know about the process and what are the requirements or documents for the application process.

Hi, if your total layover time in Shanghai is within 24 hours, you can enjoy 24h twov, and no visa will be needed. If you want to apply for transit G type, you should first prepare passport, the application form, a passport-style photo, transportation and accommodation arrangement, and your travel plan for USA. Next, submit the application to the CVASC.
