About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Travel by ferry and train through China

Hello,
We are both Dutch residents and travelling from Japan back to Netherlands by trains and boats.
We take the ferry from Incheon to Qingdao and stay a few days in Beijing. Then we take
the train to Mongolia. Is it true we do not require a visum for China and can request the 144h visum on the ferry to Qingdao?

Kind regards,
Wendy and Renze

You certainly do need a visa to travel like that. You don’t qualify for transit without visa for multiple reasons.
