About:Chinese Consulate in Chicago

Transit in Shanghai for 15 hours

Hi,
i am Malaysian passport holder. Do I need a visa for the 15-hr transit in Shanghai? I will be traveling from Chicago to Kuala Lumpur via Shanghai for both ways.

Hannah, you are not eligible for free transit policy in mainland China, so you should apply for a visa for the layover in Shanghai.
