About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Visa for Australian citizen to visit Beijing

Flying from Melbourne to Beijing to commence a cruise from Tianjin on 7th Oct that will disembark in Singapore on the 19th Oct without revisiting China mainland but we do visit Hong Kong during the Cruise. We will arrive in Beijing on the 3rd Oct and plan to spend 1 night in Xian and 3 nights Beijing
Are we eligible for the 144 hr free transit

You are not eligible for the 144 hr free transit in Beijing because of the layover in Xian. You are supposed to apply for a visa for the trip beforehand.
