About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hanoi - Guangzhou 3 days - London (with short stopover in Beijing)

My return flight stops briefly (3 hours) in Beijing on the way from Guangzhou to London. Is this a problem? I'm not leaving the airport in Beijing but simply doing a normal transit between 2 flights.

Thanks in advance, Vic

Vic, your trip will be covered by 24 h twov. No visa is required. Nice trip.

Really glad to hear that, was worried that the first destination after Guangzhou had to be outside of China. Thanks for confirming!

You wanna stay 3 days in Guangzhou?
Then you have to apply for a tourist L in advance as the 72h twov in Guangzhou doesn´t allow a 2nd stop in Mainland.

It's just a change of flights, not leaving the airport, in Beijing. The destination is London. Is this a problem?

The immigration don't care if you leave the airport in Beijing or not, it´s a touchdown in another chinese city.
You have to leave China directly without any other stop in mainland so this route doesn´t work for the 72h twov.
Sorry.

2 or more stops in China limit your transit time to 24h unfortunately.
