About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144h transit visa Beijing

When do the 144h start counting ?
Also, my final destination from Beijing is Rwanda, but I have a 2h layover in Urumqi, China. Is this a problem?

144 hours does not apply. You are limited to 24 hours visa-free transit because you have two stops in China. In addition, there are further restrictions at Urumqi for nationals of some countries.

Also, Timatic indicated that persons transiting in Urumqi will not be granted a 24-hour entry permit and hence cannot proceed to other parts of Mainland China. You absolutely will need a visa if wanting to go this route.
