About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72-hour visa-free transit policy

I am an Italian citizen and I would like to fly to Beijing with a direct fly from London and meet a businessman in the airport transit area because he will be also in transit at the Beijing airport. I will stay in the transit area around 7 hours before flying back to London with a direct fly. Do I meet the requirements for a 72-hour free transit?
Best regards
Adriano

Your plan won't work. You will definitely be denied boarding in London because you don't have a visa and you're not in transit.
