About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I use visa free transit policy for 7 hrs stopover in Guangzhou?

I travel from NZ to Amsterdam NL. I have a stopover in Guangzhou Baiyun international airport of 7 hours. I would like to stay at the Pullman hotel at the airport for a few hours between flights. Can I do this on the 72 hrs free transit policy for china?
