About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Bus instead of flights.

Hello, I am a little confused of all this.
My trip was planned as follows:
Dubai - Shanghai
Shanghai to Beijing by bus/ train? Is this allowed without entry permit?
And then from Beijing to Hong Kong by bus??
Then Hong Kong to Vietnam by bus?? I'm assuming all these options are not allowed unless I have a visa.

Also if I wanted to fly to Shanghai and then get a boat to Korea. Then get a boat back to shanghai to then travel china like the above planned ? Is that allowed?

The transit in Shanghai and Beijing limits you to 24h direct transit, so if your total layover time in mainland China is within 24 hours, you can do the trip without Chinese visa. Otherwise, you cannot enjoy the free transit policy, and a regular tourist L type is required.

You will not be able to travel between Beijing and Shanghai by Bus or train. For arrivals in Shanghai you are not allowed to leave Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang region. For arrivals in Beijing you are not allowed to leave Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. To use 24 hour direct transit you will need to fly between Beijing and Shanghai. A visa will be required for the trip.
