Do we qualify for 144 hour visa free transit?

We are traveling from the US, change flights in Vancouver, and fly to Beijing the same day. We spend four days in Beijing, return to Vancouver for a week, then home to denver. Do we qualify for 144 visa free transit? I'm not sure if US or Canada counts as country of origin.

So your route is US-BJ-Canada? If so, no worry, you can enjoy the 144h visa free transit policy and have a nice trip!
