About:China Visa

Eligible for the 144h transit visa

My boss is planning to arrive Shanghai from the US on May 7, leave for Beijing on May 9 and leave for Japan on May 11. 5 days total. Would he be eligible for the 144 hr free transit and if so, what is this process?

Visa free transit applies if US citizen. Just turn up in Shanghai

That is NOT eligible for 144 hour transit without visa, and your boss either needs a visa or a different itinerary. 144 TWOV allows transit in Beijing, or Shanghai, but not both.
