About:Shanghai Travel

I have a USA passport and am in Hong Kong for 2 months.

Can I fly without a visa into Shanghai for 5 days with my return trip into Macau? (from Macau I'll take ferry back to Hong Kong) Does this travel schedule allow for a visa free visit?
