Layover between Hong Kong and London

Hi, I wanted to get a plane from Hong Kong to London via Beijing. I was thinking of having 71 hour layover in Beijing. Does that mean I can get 72h visa to stay in Beijing? Also is it 72 or 144 hours? Different websites claim different things
