Shanghai Disney/Visa Exemption

Hi,

I am Australian and will be in the Philippines for 2 months for work. I want to do a weekend trip, one to Hong Kong and one to Shanghai to explore the Disney parks and the city. I know I will not need one for Hong Kong as I will be there only 2 days - 2.5 days.

But I am wondering if the VISA exemption for less than 72 hours also includes if you are returning to the same place you left from? But I will still have proof of accommodation and flights out with me.
