Bibhu, since your journey starts in Bangkok, it is important that you have your flight tickets at hand, ready to be presented to check-in staff at Bangkok airport. So, at the time of your check-in in Bangkok you will declare that you are traveling to Jeju (South Korea) via Shanghai using 24 hour visa free transit because you are definitely eligible for that and you do not need any kind of visa. In the same time you will present your flight ticket from Shanghai to Jeju. After a short check you will be allowed to board the plane. Upon your landing in Shanghai you will do the following in the exact order. If the arrival card is not dispensed at the aircraft before landing, you will easily find one upon your landing and fill it out. You will tick the box - transit on the arrival card. The next will be automatic fingerprinting. When you are done with these two formalities, you will approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit, again by presenting your flight tickets, arrival card and fingerprinting confirmation. This application is free of any charge. After a short check, you will be granted a temporary entry permit and then you will head to the immigration and to collect your luggage. Like this you will formally enter China and the next step is your check-in for your flight to Jeju. If the check-in is not yet open at the time when you are done with the formalities, you will hand over your luggage to left luggage facility right at the airport and proceed to Shanghai for some sightseeing if you want that. You will return on time to collect your luggage, to perform check-in and to cross the exit immigration in order to reach the gate for your onward flight to Jeju.
