144h exemption visa : travelling from Beijing to the country of origin

Hello,
I will travel from Russia (Irkukst) to Beijing. My concern is about the departure, I will travel to my country of origin (France) with a few hours stop in another country. I got two options :

- Irkukst (RUSSIA) / Beijing / FRANCE (country of origin) with a few hours stop in RUSSIA (Moscow)
- Irkukst (RUSSIA) / Beijing / FRANCE (country of origin) with a few hours stop in QATAR

Is a flight (not direct) to the country of origin is eligible to the 144h exemption?
If I come from Russia in the first place and I come back in Russia for a brief stop on the way to France, is this return flight eligible to the 144h exemption ?

Thank you.

I have he same question.
I am going from Manila To Shanghai to HK to Manila (3 flights) but my first flight has a “stop over” in HK.
Does this work?

Only the flights immediately before and immediately after China are relevant. The other flights in your itinerary don't matter. Russia-China-Russia is no good. HK-China-HK also doesn't qualify. It's always irrelevant whether you leave the airport, or even the aircraft, at your stops.
