question about 72 hour visa free transit pass in Shanghai

If I am traveling to Bali and stopping in Shanghai for less than 72 hours, I'm assuming that I am eligible for the free transit pass in Shanghai. I understand that I need to show proof of a flight to my next destination country (Indonesia). However, I was planning on getting a visa on arrival in Indonesia. Will that work or do I have to get my Indonesian tourist entry permit beforehand so that I can show it in Shanghai?

Laurie, you don't have to show Indonesia visa for applying for the free transit. Your passport, confirmed onward ticket, completed landing card (usually distributed during the flight) and ideally your accommodation in China are enough.
