About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Do I qualify for 144h visa-free with a US passport if I travel from US to Beijing...to Thailand...

How does the 144 visa work? If I stay in the city for 72 hours and leave for Thailand for a few days...when I come back...do I still have 72 hours remaining?

Yes, you do qualify for the policy.
It’s not divided into two periods, and in your case, you can enjoy 144h visa fee transit twice!

So due to me being a US citizen, it would be the $140 fee applied twice? So a total of $280.

No, you will be in transit without visa. You don't need a visa so you don't have anything to pay for. This assumes you are flying USA-BJ-Bangkok-China-USA on non-stop flights (with no other stops in China).

Oh okay. I think I may have misunderstood. I was trying to purchase a roundtrip flight from the USA to BJ then purchase a roundtrip flight from BJ to Thailand. I hope this makes sense.

Hi, Alexis! Just as Rob mentioned, your route agrees with the visa free transit policy! Have a nice trip!
