About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am indian travelling to Canada ...I need to change flights at Shanghai...

Will I need to do special paperwork to avail the 24 hours transit visa

You do not need special paperwork, but you probably won't be able to leave the airport anyway which is the case for every nationality since February 2018.
