Can we get free visa in Beijing

Children and I are U.S. citizens, wife is from philippines but is legal U.S. resident. Flight from Manila, layover at Xiamen, onto Beijing. Arrive at 9:45 AM, depart at 9:10 PM the next night (35hrs. 25min. stay). Depart Beijing, layover at Jinjiang then to Manila. Do we qualify for the 72 hour free transit? Thanks
