Do i need a visa for a 24hr layover in beijing?

My return flight to Manila from Canada has a 24hr layover in beijing. Do i need it in order to leave the airport for an overnight hotel stay?

Well, if the layover duration is not more than 24 hours, you don't need visa. In order to leave the airport, you can apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration desk.
