About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

9 hour layover in pvg

I wanted to take the maglev/metro from pvg to the city center, but immigration officers told me I didn't have enough time. I told them maglev only takes 30 mins and then they told me the police changed the rules and they could not give me a temporary visa. What changed? Did they deny me for no reason?

Oh, it is strange. Nothing has changed about the 24/72h visa-free transit. You just need to present your passport and onward flight booking proof, as well as Arrival/Departure Card. Then you will get a stay permit to have a visit in downtown.
