About:Visa Policy of China

I am Australian Passport holder

and will be obtaining a 5 day Shenzhen VOA by Ferry from HKG in Shekou. My onward flight to Seattle leaves from Shenzhen via Shanghai with a two hour stopover in Shanghai and Plane change. Will I have a problem leaving China form Shanghai as my visa is only valid for the Shenzhen Area.

You will definitely have a problem and you should get a visa in advance to travel like this.
