US-Hong Kong-Shenzhen-Taiwan-Hong Kong back to US

I am traveling from the US to Hong Kong, then to Shenzen for 24 hours, then to Taiwan for 72 hours, then back to Hong Kong before heading back to US. I have a valid passport. Can you use the 72 hour visa free for both Shenzen and Taiwan?

You must apply for a 5-day SEZ VOA for Shenzhen at a cost of $140. There's no free transit in Shenzhen of any kind. US citizens can stay in Taiwan for up to 90 days without a visa.
