About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am a US citizen and will be in Bangkok, then flying to Shanghai to take a 5 day cruise.

The ship arrives back in Shanghai, then I fly back to the USA. From the time I’m scheduled to arrive in Shanghai until the time my flight departs Shanghai is 142 hours. I think I should qualify for the 144 hour transit visa but wanted to check. Thanks for any help you can offer.

If you travel Thailand –Shanghai – a third country instead of Thailand-Shanghai - USA, you will be able to enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
