About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I am arriving on an Air Canada flight to Beijing from Toronto.

Two days later I have a China Southern flight from Beijing to Vladivostok, but we have to change planes in Harbin. We won't leave the airport there, but will just change planes. Can a 72-hour visa still be used despite the transfer in a second city?

No, you need a visa. Two stops limits you to 24 hours.
