Do I need a visa for Beijing+Shanghai transit?

I have an open jaw transit in China from KUL to SFO.

Specifically, I am flying KUL-PEK, do a train transfer, then PVG-NRT-SFO.

Does the 144hr free program for entry via PEK and exit via PVG?

Ling, no, you cannot use the 144 hour free transit if you travel like that. You need to apply for a transit G type.
