About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I have a flight from the United State to Bali, Indonesia.

I have 2 layovers in China, SZX for 2h 15m and XMN for 21h 05m. I am wanting to book a hotel in XMN for the 21h 05m overnight layover but I am not sure if I qualify for the 72 hour free transit or if I have to apply for apply for a different visa. HELP

You do not qualify for 72 hours free transit, and you must get a visa in advance. You have two stops, more than 24 hours, and you stop at Shenzhen so there's really no doubt about it.

I will be in China less than 24 hours total. My first layover in China at szx is 2 hours and 15 minutes my second layover in China at xmn is 21 hours and 5 minutes that totals 23 hours and 20 minutes in China. Does that not qualify me for the regular 24-hour direct Transit?

What about the flight time from SZX to XMN? Is it less than 40 minutes? I wouldn't think so. But anyway, it's all irrelevant because there's no free transit in SZX and therefore you need a visa.
