hanoi- guangzhou- beijing

Question

Hi, I am flying to Beijing from Hanoi and wish to take advantage of 72hour free transit in Beijing. However my flight itinerary has a 1.5 hour layover in guangzhou. Is this going to effect my application? Is it possible to transit through the airport with no visa and then get it in Beijing. Regards Jason

You cannot travel that itinerary unless you have a Chinese visa in advance.

Hi Yes I realised this yesterday. I had booked the flight in advance but then had issues with obtaining my visa so have decided to just do a short stop in Beijing. I think I will have to re book a direct flight from Hanoi to Beijing now. Thanks for the reply 👍🏻
