About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello I’m flying in from Hong Kong, then I have a 7 hour layover in Beijing

then back to the United States. Can I leave the airport before my flight back to New York City?

There have been reports that under 8 (possibly under 10) hours getting denied to leave, so there is a chance you wont be able to. It doesn't hurt to try.
