Flying to Hong Kong Departing from Shanghai

Hello, I am planning on traveling to China, but I am a US citizen who will be flying to Hong Kong and crossing the land border to Shenzhen, and am leaving China from Shanghai.

To apply for a tourist visa I am supposed to provide flight information, will flying to Hong Kong and crossing the land border cause any problems?

No, I don’t think it will cause any problems. Just make the application directly.
