Visa Requirement - Land Beijing - See Great Wall - Train to Ulan Bator

Hello,
We (two Canadians) are hoping to land in Beijing, see the great wall then take the train to ulan bator...if we do this within the 72 hour window can we do this with the 72 hour free transit? Fly in to Beijing then train out of the country to ulan bator...
