About:Shanghai Transportation

I am holding Indonesia passport. I am flying from SFO to Jakarta via PVG.

I have 24 hours to wait for the next flight to Jakarta. I am thinking of doing sightseeing in the city. Can I leave the airport without holding Chinese Visa. Your information is greatly appreciated. Thx.

Yes, you can leave the airport without a visa. But you need to apply for a stay permit in the airport first. As for travelling around the city, I’d like to give you some suggestion.
You can take metro line 2 to People’s Square, and then Nanjing Rd. After that, pay a visit to Yuyuan Garden and then Bund. If you still have time, you can take the metro 2 to Lujiazui and pay a visit to Oriental Pearl Tower.
