About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transit 72 hr visa

I am flying from Manchester to Beijing, then flying from Beijing to Bangkok via Shanghai and returning to Beijing again via Shanghai 3 weeks later then back to Manchester My flight is leaving Beijing within 72 hrs both times. Is it ok I use the 72 hr free transit for this. Thanks Jamie

No, it's not ok. You need a visa in advance for this, unless your total time in China is less than 24 hours. You can't stop at both Beijing and Shanghai under 72 hour free transit.
