About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From Bangkok to HongKong, to Shanghai and back from Shanghai to Bangkok

Hi,

Just double checking if we qualify for the 144 hour Free Transit.

At the end of December we will fly from Amsterdam to Bangkok.
From there we are going to make a side trip to HongKong and Shanghai and back to Bangkok.

We booked flight tickets from Bangkok to HongKong on January 4 (stay there for 4 nights), and will fly from HongKong to Shanghai on January 8. On January 13 we will fly back from Shanghai to Bangkok. Later in January we will fly back from Bangkok to Amsterdam. So if I am correct we are eligible for the 144 Hour Visa free transit. Thank you, Peter

Your plan is fine for 144 hours visa-free transit in Shanghai, as long as your passports qualify and all your flights are non-stop (with no extra stops in China or in Hong Kong, for example).

Hoi Rob,

Thank you for your quick response.
Yes they are all direct, non stop flights, though booked with different airline companies.
We arrive and depart from Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG)

Best regards,
Peter
