13 hours layover leaving capital airport

Question

Flying Air China: arriving PEK at 12.35pm from PARIS and leaving at 1.45am to SYDNEY.do I have time enough to go to old town, by train, and do some local shopping (no brands or international shops)? And what do you recommend? I visited Beijing sites before.

Yes, your time is enough for a local shopping. You are suggested to take Airport Express and transfer to Metro Line 2 at Dongzhimen, and then get off Jianguomen from Exit B. After that, walk east for 5 minutes to the Silk Street to go shopping. It takes an hour by the way.
