About:Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport

i have a 9 hour layover from 1pm to 10pm at Xiamen Airport, what to do?

is there a bus into the city where i take take a look around and have something to eat? thanks

You are suggested to take a bus to Gulangyu Island. First, you need to take Shuttle Bus Ferry Line to the Port, and then transfer to Bus- Xiagu Special Line to the island. It takes about 40 minutes.
In the island, there are many snacks everywhere, like oyster omelette, seafood, and pot stewed meat.

Thanks, is that 40 min total for both buses. Do you recall the cost? Can you change USD to Yuan without commission at the airport? I remember in Shanghai its minimum commission of $20. thanks

Yes, 40 minutes is the total time. It costs CNY14 in total, about 2 dollars. I’m not sure about the commission at the airport but you’d better change the dollars to RMB at the airport, it’s more convenient.

They have a surcharge of 50 rmb (around $7.6 USD) per transaction. I asked why, she said because this was at the airport.
