Is it possible to travel to Hong Kong via Shenzhen airport without Chinese visa

I am interested in traveling to Hong Kong from Seoul but have discovered that airfare to SZ in half the price of airfare to Hong Kong. Is there as way to fly using the bao'an airport without a Chinese visa?

You mean you are carrying an USA passport and want to fly to SZ first, then go to Hongkong, right? If so, then you are qualified for the 144-hour visa –free in SZ, so you don’t need a visa.

Do you mean I can travel by surface (ferry, train or bus) into HK using the 144 hour transit visa? Isn't that intended for people who are flying on to a 3rd country?

Yes, you can still enjoy the 144 hour transit, since HK, Taiwan and Macau are regarded as the third region in International Flights.
