Extending work residence permit

Hi

I'm currently on work residence permit expiring on October 15th. I am aware of the new system implemented on April 2017. I have to travel until September 25th, but I was told by my employer that I need one month to process the extension. My question is if I apply for this extension on the 25th (I am aware of the national holiday of October 1st), will it be OK? If the application is lodged before the expiry date, my common sense tells me it's okay, given all the requirement is complete and provided?

Thanks

Anthony, as far as I know, you should extend it 30 days prior to the expiry date of your residence permit, so you’d better renew it on September 15th. Of course, it is still possible for you to extend it successfully when you do it on September 25th. You can give it a try. You’d better confirm that with the exit and entry administration of the local PSB in advance.

Cheers for the info mate, yes I agree the 15th would obviously be best, however i have to travel for my brother's wedding on the the 17th till the 25th. What is the risk involved if I apply on the 25th? Meaning, is there a chance i will be denied another permit? I feel that i would know already what PSB would say, 'no you cant, you need 30 days'
