About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

US to US?

I have a friend that's asked me to visit Shanghai for a few days. If I fly in from the US will I be able to get the 144 hour pass if my return ticket is back to the states?

Of course not. You must fly Country A - Shanghai - Country B.
