About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can the 2 stop rule be applied on the way into Beijing

For example, if i have a flight that goes from London > Helsinki > Beijing then a direct flight back from Beijing to London will i still be able to apply/be eligible for the 72hr free transit?
