I am going to Japan on Oct.26, stay in Beijing overnight due to airline delay, is it count?

We am going to Japan on Oct 26, 2017, but stay in Beijing overnight due to airline delay, then we go to Japan the next day, we will comeback to Beijing on Nov.3 at 6:20pm and leave Nov6 at 4:00pm (less then 72 hours). Are we qualify for the 72 hours Free Visa? do they combine the 1st stop and the second one together? and if not, do we need to apply for the 72 hours free transit at the Beijing airport?
