Question about a transit Chinese entry

Hello,
I have a Kazakhstani citizneship but I am currenly based in the U.S. (Grad student, F1 type). I will be flying from the U.S. to Kazakhstan via China. There is a lay out for 24 hours in Beijin. Can I get a transit Chinese visa (24 hours entry) in the U.S?
Thank you!
