About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Istanbul - Guangzhou - Hong Kong

Hello,

do I need a visa if I come from Istanbul to Guangzhou and within 144 hours leave to Hong Kong by land (bus or train), not by plane?

The 144 hour policy hasn’t been carried out in Guangzhou yet. You should apply for a transit G type in advance.

thank you. so if i stay less than 24 hours in Guangzhou and go by bus to Hong Kong, then I dont need G type? i understand it's a 24-hour free transit, right?

That's correct, but you need to have your bus ticket ready before boarding, otherwise the airline will not let you on board.
