Eligibility for free 24-hour transit without visa?

I’m a Indian passport holder, am I eligible for the free 24-hour transit without visa if I want to exit airport to visit Shanghai city during stopover? I’m taking China Eastern Airlines from:

1) Singapore - Shanghai (18hr stopover) - Los Angeles
2) Los Angeles - Shanghai (18hr stopover) - Singapore

Thanks.

Kristy, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai in both directions. You need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the airport to explore the city. Have fun!
