About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying to Shanghai from Phuket, Thailand for 3 nights but we have a 3 hour transit point in Beijing

What type of Visa does my family require? Can the 144 hour free transit apply to us? Our return flight to Canada leaves Shanghai to USA then to Canada

family and I (3 of us) have Canadian passports

Anastasios, you cannot use 144 hour free transit in Shanghai because of your transit in Beijing. You can apply for tourist L type for that.

Thank you Ivana... do I still need an L Visa?:
we decided to 'now' stay in Beijing for 3 days (coming in from Thailand), then fly into Shanghai for 2 days (from Beijing) before leaving for USA and then to Canada...thanks once again

Yes, you still need an L type for that.
